• Clear cases: If all assessors see strong Officer Like Qualities, the decision is usually straightforward.

• Clear not-recommended cases: If all assessors see major gaps, the decision is also clear.

• Borderline cases: If the views differ, the board discusses in more detail. A candidate's conference conversation may help clarify these cases.

The board looks for consistency across all techniques. A candidate whose behaviour, answers and actions match across the psychology tests, GTO tasks and interview gives the board more confidence.

SSB Final Result After the Conference

After the conference, the SSB final result is announced to the whole batch. An officer reads out only the chest numbers of recommended candidates. Names are not announced, so listen carefully for your number.

• If you are recommended: You will stay back for document checks and a medical examination at a Military Hospital, which usually takes 4 to 5 days. Final selection then depends on medical fitness, the merit list and vacancies.

• If you are not recommended: You will complete the formalities and travel home. Many candidates are recommended on later attempts, so reflect on your experience and prepare for the next one.
