40 Naval Electrical Officers Graduate From INS Valsura After 95-Week Specialisation Training
Forty young Electrical Officers, including Indian Coast Guard and foreign naval personnel, have completed the 95-week Electrical Specialisation Course at INS Valsura in Jamnagar. The course was reviewed by Vice Admiral B Sivakumar, Chief of Materiel of the Indian Navy.
The Indian Navy's Electrical Specialisation Course at INS Valsura has concluded, with 40 young officers completing the 95-week programme. The batch included Indian Coast Guard personnel and officers from friendly foreign nations, making the passing out a notable moment in their naval careers.
Vice Admiral B Sivakumar, AVSM, VSM, Chief of Materiel of the Indian Navy, reviewed the course. His presence underlined how much specialised technical training matters for keeping modern naval fleets combat-ready.
What the officers trained in
Over the 95 weeks, the officers received in-depth instruction in naval electrical systems, weapons, sensors and other equipment vital to maritime operations. They also studied emerging technologies, with a strong focus on blending these with traditional naval engineering. The aim is to help them handle new technical challenges and support the performance of warships and other maritime platforms.
Why Electrical Officers matter
Electrical Officers keep a warship's electrical systems, sensors and weapons running reliably. Their expertise is central to sustained naval operations, as complex electrical and electronic systems must work without fault on board.
Joint participation
Officers from the Indian Coast Guard and partner countries trained alongside the Navy's own. This reflects the value of military cooperation and shared learning in strengthening maritime capabilities.
