Indian Army Partners with Zoho Corporation to Drive Indigenous Digital Transformation

MoU Focuses on Secure Digital Solutions, Defence-Focused R&D, and Technology Skill Development Under Army’s JAI Vision

In a major push towards strengthening indigenous digital capabilities, the Indian Army has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zoho Corporation to accelerate its digital transformation journey in line with the Army’s JAI vision—Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Innovation.

The agreement was signed by Lieutenant General Harsh Chhibber, Director General Information Systems (DGIS), and Rajendran Dandapani, Director of Engineering at Zoho Corporation, in the presence of Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi and Zoho Founder Sridhar Vembu.

The partnership aims to promote application-oriented research and development, develop secure and sustainable digital solutions, and enhance technology-driven skills among Indian Army personnel. It is expected to play a crucial role in supporting the Army’s ongoing transformation into a future-ready, digitally empowered force.

Under the MoU, the Indian Army and Zoho Corporation will collaborate to develop indigenous technology solutions tailored to military requirements while fostering innovation and self-reliance in critical digital domains. The initiative will also focus on strengthening expertise in emerging technologies and building institutional capabilities to address future operational and strategic challenges.

The collaboration aligns with the Government of India’s broader Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, highlighting the importance of leveraging domestic technological expertise to enhance defence preparedness and operational effectiveness. Through this partnership, both organisations will work towards creating secure digital platforms and innovative applications designed to improve efficiency, decision-making, and organisational agility across military operations and administrative functions.

He emphasised that harnessing the strengths of India’s technology ecosystem is essential for building resilient, secure, and future-oriented digital infrastructures for the armed forces.

Zoho Corporation, one of India’s leading technology firms, brings extensive expertise in software development, cloud computing, and enterprise technology solutions. Its collaboration with the Indian Army is expected to significantly strengthen indigenous digital capabilities and contribute to the Army’s long-term transformation objectives.

The MoU marks another important milestone in the Indian Army’s modernisation roadmap, reinforcing its commitment to integrating innovation, technology, and self-reliance into defence preparedness while advancing its vision of becoming a technologically advanced and operationally agile force capable of meeting the challenges of the future.
