CISF Trains BSF Personnel in Airport Security at Its Delhi Institute
Quick summary
The CISF has run a one-day airport security training programme for BSF officers and personnel at the Airport Security Training Institute in Delhi. It covered access control management and screening equipment such as X-BIS, HHMD, DFMD and ETD.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) ran a one-day airport security training programme for officers and personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) at the Airport Security Training Institute (ASTI) of CISF Unit ASG Delhi. The course was designed to give the BSF team a better understanding of airport security procedures, modern screening technology and day-to-day operating practices.
What the course covered
The programme concentrated on two main areas of aviation security: Access Control Management and the correct use of security screening equipment. The BSF participants were trained on:
X-ray Baggage Inspection Systems (X-BIS)
Hand-Held Metal Detectors (HHMD)
Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD)
Explosive Trace Detectors (ETD)
How it was taught
Experienced ASTI instructors led the sessions, which combined classroom lectures, equipment familiarisation and hands-on practical demonstrations. The format gave participants a chance to see how modern airport security systems work and to practise screening and access control procedures themselves.
Cooperation among CAPFs
The CISF said the programme reflects its commitment to building professional skills, sharing knowledge and improving coordination among India’s Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). Through such specialised courses, the force said, it continues to support inter-force cooperation and capacity building, helping security personnel gain the technical knowledge and operational skills needed to deal with changing security challenges.
