The Common Entrance Examination is the first gate in Agniveer recruitment. Only candidates who clear it are called to the recruitment rally. Most aspirants who fall short don’t lack effort; they study the wrong syllabus for their category. The Agniveer Army CEE syllabus differs sharply between GD, Technical and Tradesmen, and mixing them up wastes weeks.

What Is the Agniveer CEE and Where Does It Fit?

The CEE is the online written test that every Indian Army Agniveer applicant takes under the Agnipath scheme. It is Phase I of selection. Phase II is the recruitment rally, which covers:

• Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

• Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

• Adaptability Test

• Medical examination

You only reach the rally if your CEE score gets you shortlisted.

Your category decides your syllabus entirely. The three largest categories are:

• Agniveer General Duty (GD): Class 10 level, the highest-volume category.

• Agniveer Technical: Class 12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

• Agniveer Tradesmen: 10th-pass and 8th-pass trades such as Cook, Washerman, House Keeper and Mess Keeper.

Agniveer CEE Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

Based on the latest notification:

The negative marking rule costs you a quarter of a question’s value for each wrong answer. Unattempted questions carry no penalty, so skip anything you can’t narrow down.

In recent cycles the pass marks have been about 35 for GD, 32 for Tradesmen and 80 for Technical. Passing alone doesn’t guarantee a rally call, because shortlisting goes by merit.

Agniveer GD Syllabus Subject-Wise

General Knowledge: history of India, geography, polity, sports, awards, books and authors, defence news, and national and international current affairs.

General Science (Class 10): physics, chemistry and biology from the Class 9 and 10 NCERT books, with an emphasis on everyday applications.

Mathematics (Class 10): these are the class 10 mathematics topics that come up most often:

• number system, HCF and LCM, decimals and fractions

• ratio and proportion, percentage, profit and loss, simple and compound interest

• time and work, time and distance

• mensuration, basic algebra

Logical Reasoning: number and letter series, coding-decoding, analogy, odd one out, direction sense and blood relations.

There is no English section in the GD paper.

Agniveer Technical CEE Syllabus Subject-Wise

Physics (Class 12): laws of motion, work and energy, optics, electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism and electromagnetic induction, and semiconductors.

Mathematics (Class 12):

• relations and functions, trigonometry

• matrices and determinants, calculus, differential equations

• vectors, three-dimensional geometry, probability

Chemistry (Class 12): atomic structure, chemical bonding, thermodynamics, equilibrium, electrochemistry, basic organic chemistry and biomolecules.

General Knowledge: the same areas as GD: current affairs, history, geography, polity, sports and defence.

Class 12 physics and chemistry carry 100 of the 200 marks together, so they decide most Technical results.

Agniveer Tradesmen Syllabus Topics

The structure matches GD, but the level depends on your entry:

• 10th-pass trades are tested at Class 10 level.

• 8th-pass trades, such as House Keeper and Mess Keeper, are tested at Class 8 level.

How to Prepare for Agniveer CEE 2027: Subject-Wise Priority

GD aspirants. GK, General Science and Maths each carry 30 marks, so give them equal time.

• Reasoning is only 10 marks; a few weeks of practice is enough.
