The NDA 2027 Application Form for NDA 1 opens on 2 December 2026 and closes on 22 December 2026 (6:00 PM), on upsconline.nic.in. For NDA 2, the form opens on 12 May 2027 and closes on 1 June 2027. You first complete the UPSC account, Universal Registration Number (URN) and Common Application Form, then fill the NDA exam form, upload documents, pay the ₹100 fee (women, SC, ST and eligible sons of JCOs, NCOs and ORs are exempt), choose your exam centre and submit.

How to Apply for NDA: The Four Modules

The UPSC online portal has four modules (cards). Knowing them makes the process much easier:

Good news: You can complete the first three modules even before 2 December 2026. This leaves only the NDA exam form to fill once the window opens.

NDA 2027 Application Form: Step-by-Step Process

Here is how to apply for NDA, step by step.

Step 1: Create Your Account

1. Visit upsconline.nic.in.

2. Click on the option to create an account.

3. Enter your email ID and mobile number, and verify them with OTP.

Step 2: Complete the Universal Registration Number (URN)

1. Log in and open the URN module.

2. Fill in your basic details, such as name, date of birth, gender and parents' names.

3. Enter the details of your photo ID. Aadhaar is recommended for easy verification.

4. Submit and lock the URN profile. Your URN will be generated.

The URN is registered only once in a lifetime and is used for all UPSC exams.

Step 3: Fill the Common Application Form (CAF)

1. Enter your address, education details and other personal information.

2. Upload your photograph and signature as per the instructions.

3. Capture a live photograph through your device camera when asked.

4. Upload your photo ID document.

5. Review and submit the CAF.

Step 4: Fill the NDA Examination Specific Module

1. Once the NDA 2027 Application Form window opens, select the NDA and NA Examination.

2. Choose your wing preferences (Army, Navy, Air Force, Naval Academy) as per your eligibility.

3. Select your exam centre.

4. Review all details carefully.

Step 5: Pay the Application Fee

Pay the fee online, if applicable. Keep the payment confirmation.

Step 6: Submit and Save

1. Check every detail one final time.

2. Submit the form.

3. Download and save the confirmation page. Note your Application Number along with your URN for future use.

NDA Application Fee

The NDA application fee can be paid through net banking, debit or credit card, or UPI. Fees once paid are not refunded.

Choosing Your Exam Centre

In the NDA 2027 Application Form, exam centres are allotted on a first-apply-first-allot basis. Once a centre is full, it is frozen and no longer shown.

• In the latest notifications, Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata and Nagpur had no ceiling on candidates.

• Popular cities fill up quickly, so it's a good idea to apply early.

• The exam centre cannot be changed after submission.

Can You Edit the NDA Form After Submission?

Please treat your submission as final:

• The application cannot be withdrawn after submission.

• UPSC has stated in recent notifications that no correction is allowed in any field after submission and the close of the application window.

• UPSC offers a one-time edit facility for the URN profile, but changes apply only to applications submitted after the edit, not to forms already submitted.

• In some earlier cycles, UPSC opened a short correction window. If one is announced for 2027, we will share the update.

This is why checking everything carefully before you click submit is so important.

Common NDA 2027 Application Form Mistakes to Avoid

• Entering a date of birth that doesn't match the Class 10 certificate

• Uploading a blurred, dark or old photograph

• Signing in capital letters or not following the signature instructions

• Choosing Air Force or Navy without Physics and Maths in Class 12

• Using an email or mobile number you may lose access to

• Waiting until the last day, when the website can be slow

• Choosing a far-off exam centre by mistake

After Submitting the NDA 2027 Application Form

• Save your URN, Application Number and confirmation page.

• Check your email regularly for updates from UPSC.

• Download your e-admit card when it is released, usually on the last working day of the week before the exam.

• Start or continue preparation for Mathematics and the General Ability Test (GAT).

NDA 2 2027 Application

The NDA 2 2027 application follows the same process. The form window is expected from 12 May 2027 to 1 June 2027, and the exam is on 19 September 2027. If you already have a URN and CAF from NDA 1, you only need to fill the NDA exam module for NDA 2.
